Course Description
This course will enable early childhood professionals to understand how to promote health and safety in childcare settings. It will cover topics such as child development, illnesses and injuries experienced by young children, infection control, emergency response planning, and creating a safe and secure environment for children.

Audiovisual materials – such as slideshows, videos and animations – to complement the lecture and make it more attractive and interactive.
First aid kit - a basic first aid kit for practical demonstrations and implementation of first aid techniques.
Simulation accessories and equipment – such as dolls, car seats and other objects that can be used to demonstrate care and safety techniques.
Online resources – such as websites and online forums that provide additional information and support to students.
Students are also advised to have access to a computer or device connected to the Internet to access online resources and complete the assignments required for the course.
