A Diploma of Vocational Studies, or DVS, is a is a state-recognized credential. It certifies that the student has completed and successfully passed a high school-level vocational program leading to a trade or profession.
Course Duration: 17 to 18 months (1350 Hours)

Admission Requirements
Canadian Students
You are eligible for this program if you meet the college's educational requirements and fulfill at least one of the following criteria:
- Persons holding a Secondary School Diploma or its recognized equivalent, for example, an Attestation of Equivalence of Secondary V studies, or a postsecondary diploma such as the Diploma of College Studies or a Bachelor's degree
- Persons who are at least 16 years of age on September 30 of the school year in which their training is to begin and have earned the Secondary IV credits in language of instruction, second language and mathematics in the programs of study established by the Minister, or have been granted recognition for equivalent learning
- Persons who are at least 18 years of age upon entry into the program and have the following functional prerequisites: the successful completion of the General Development Test (see the following table), or recognition of equivalent learning
- Persons who have obtained Secondary III credits in language of instruction, second language and mathematics in programs established by the Minister are required to pursue general education courses, concurrently with their vocational training, in order to obtain the Secondary IV credits they lack in language of instruction, second language and mathematics in programs established by the Minister.

Technical Requirements
Starting with Fall 2024, Cestar College, Longueuil Campus is implementing a Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) policy.
Here are the minimum suggested technical requirements for laptops at Cestar College, Longueuil Campus:
- Microsoft Windows 11
- 11th Generation Intel Core i5 processor or AMD Ryzen 5 5000 series
- Minimum 8GB (16GB preferable) memory
- Webcam functionality
- Audio capability (speakers and a quality headset/microphone for in-class use)
- 512 GB or larger Solid-State Drive (SSD)
- Wireless Network adapter supporting IEEE 802.11g/n/ac
- 15" screen or greater (recommended resolution 1920x1080)
- Minimum 1 full size USB ports (USB 3.0A), 1 or more USB-C Port
- Virus protection software required
- Optional: 10/100/1000 Ethernet RJ45 connection or a USB to Ethernet adapter
The College has established that a Windows-based PC is required. Apple or Chromebook devices are not suitable for Cestar College, Longueuil Campus programs. The College provides registered students with wireless Internet access and access to O365 software downloads.
