SECRETARIAL STUDIES – MEDICAL - AVS 5874

The Medical Secretary program (AVS 5874) at the Longueuil Campus is a 450-hour specialization designed to prepare students for work in clinics, hospitals, CLSCs, or CHSLDs.

Completion of this program leads to an Attestation of Vocational Specialization (AVS).

The Attestation of Vocational Specialization (AVS) is a short specialized training program for holders of a Diploma of Vocational Studies (DVS).


The AVS allows you to:

  • To expand the knowledge acquired during the Diploma of Vocational Studies (DVS) in a related area or specialization.
  • Studies leading to AVS typically last 3 to 8 months (300 to 900 hours of study).
